Introduction
About 100 years ago, in Rohtak, Shri Nand Lal Jain was a prominent figure in the Jain community. He was a person filled with all kinds of comforts and a virtuous and religious lifestyle. His wish was to build a Jain temple in the area. Therefore, while carrying out this religious task, he constructed the Shri 1008 Parshvanath Digambar Jain Mandir, which stands in a healthy condition to this day. After Shri Nand Lal Jain, the local Jain community has been managing the temple. The total area of the temple is spread over 2200 square yards. A Bagichi (Garden) has been constructed within the temple premises, which provides peace to the mind. In front of the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple, a "Manastambha" has been erected. After viewing the Manastambha, we enter the Garbh Grah of the temple, where we see the idols of the deities.
Initially, there was one Vedi in the temple where the idol (pratima) of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan was enshrined as the Moolnayak (main deity). Later, in 1997, two other Vedi were constructed. In the temple, besides the Mool Vedi of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan ji, Vedi of Shri 1008 Mahavir Swami and Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan are also established. In the Garbh Grah of the temple, there is also a Vedi of Mata Padmavati Ji and Jin Rakshak Dev Kshetrapal Baba Ji. The temple also houses the "Chaubisi Vedi '' where the Chaubisi Pratima is enshrined. From time to time, Jain Saints visit the temple. Aryika Chandramati Mata Ji Chaturmas has been held in the area, and Acharya Shri Kunthunath Sagar Ji has also visited the area several times. Daily, the Jain community performs the rituals of worship, cleaning and Abhishek (auspicious bath of the idol) in the temple.

It is said that there used to be a daily visitor from the Jain community at the temple who would perform the ritual of worship, cleaning, and Abhishek every day. Like every other day, on this day too, he came to the temple for worship and Abhishek. When he opened the doors of the Temple’s Garbh Grah, he saw that the Moolnayak Pratima had already been anointed. He mentioned this incident to the local Jain community. Upon hearing this, the members of the Jain community were astonished. Everyone felt that without unlocking the door, no ordinary person could enter the temple, so this act must have been performed by the Dev themselves.

There is a community of 300 Digambar Jain families in Rohtak. The Jain community manages the temple, and from time to time. Jain saints also visit Rohtak. Adequate arrangements are available for visitors who come to visit the temple. If any pilgrims contact the temple before arriving, arrangements for accommodation and meals are provided by the Jain community. A Jain library has been established in the area. The Girls and Boys School, constructed by the Jain community, provides education to students from all sections of society. For children of young age, a Jain Pathshala is organized once a week so that they can learn about Jain principles and incorporate them into their lives.
History
Rohtak is a district in the state of Haryana, India. It was founded by King Rohtas, who built Rohtasgarh (Rohtas Fort). The Rohtak district is surrounded by five districts of Haryana from all sides. To its north lies Jind, to the east lies Sonipat, to the west lies Bhiwani, to the south lies Jhajjar, to the northwest lies Hisar, and to the southwest lies Bahadurgarh. Rohtak is a major market for grains and cotton. Its industrial activities include notable work in food processing, cotton ginning, sugar, and weaving mills for electricity.
