Shri Parshwanath Jain Mandir Jind
It is believed that Jind was founded by the Pandavas from the Mahabharata epic, who established a temple here around which the town of Jind (formerly known as Jaintpuri) developed.
The number of families of Digambar Jain community in Jind is less than other communities, hence the temple is run by Jain families. The members working for the operation of the temple are as follows :
Introduction
Shri 1008 Digambar Jain Mandir is located in Housing Board Colony, Jind district, Haryana. The temple was constructed in 1987 by Shri Dhyan Chand Jain. It is said that during the construction of the temple, there was opposition from other communities. However, with the help of Shri Satish Jain, who is currently the president of the temple, the construction was successfully completed. After the temple was built, Shri Dhyan Chand Jain handed it over to the Jain community.
The Vedi Pratistha (consecration of the altar) in the temple took place on May 31, 1995, under the auspices of Param Pujya Acharya Ratna Shri 108 Samati Sagar Ji Maharaj's esteemed disciple, Param Vidushi Aryika Ratna Shri 105 Chandramati Mata Ji and along with her sangh (congregation). The temple was renovated in 2020 under the guidance of Shri 108 Ajit Muni Maharaj. The temple has three Vedi (altars) in total.
The Mool Vedi (main altar) of the temple is dedicated to Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan. The idol of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan in this Vedi is said to be 500 years old. Along with the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol), other Tirthankar idols are also enshrined in the Vedi. The second Vedi of the temple houses the Moolnayak Pratima of Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan, and the third Vedi features the Moolnayak Pratima of Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Bhagwan.
The idol of Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan is considered to have great miraculous power in the region. It is believed that if a person performs the Abhishek of the idol with full devotion for 15 days, their wishes will surely be fulfilled. Despite the small number of Jains in the area, regular worship and rituals are performed in the temple.
Dharamshala
A priest has been arranged in the temple to ensure regular worship and rituals. The priest performs the Abhishek (auspicious bath of the idol) of the idols daily. The temple also has a large discourse hall and an accommodation for Jain Sadhu Maharaj. When Sadhu Maharaj visits the area, arrangements for their stay are made in the Tyagi Bhawan. An Ayurvedic dispensary has also been established alongside the temple, where Ayurvedic medicines are provided. If a pilgrim comes from a distant area to visit the temple, accommodations are arranged for them by Jain families.

In the 18th century, Jind was one of the princely states of Punjab established by a Sikh ruler. The area is extensively irrigated by canals and tube wells. Jind serves as an important local agricultural market, with wheat and rice being the primary crops, along with millet, oilseeds, chickpeas, and sugarcane. Jind is connected by rail to Panipat via the Delhi-Firozpur railway line and by road to Delhi and other important cities in Haryana. The major national highways in the district are National Highway 352 and National Highway 152.
