
Kasan Jain Mandir Atishay Kshetra
According to legend, during the Mahabharat era, King Yudhishthira of Indraprastha (present-day Delhi) gifted this village to his guru Dronacharya.
The Shri Digambar Jain Mandir Committee has made significant contributions to the management of the Shri 1008 Parshvanath Digambar Jain Atishay Tirth, Kasan. The members of the committee are as follows :
Introduction
Shri 1008 Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra, Kasan, is situated atop the Aravalli Hills near Manesar, an industrial hub of Haryana. It is believed that the development of the area occurred after the manifestation of the idol of Shri Mallinath Bhagwan Ji, which is 750 years old. During the excavation of the foundation at the house of a barber named Mangal, in 1997. Ten Jain idols were discovered in a clay pot. All these idols were ancient, dating back 750 years and were later established in the Temple. Under the inspiration of Param Pujya Upadhyay Shri 108 Guptisagar Ji Maharaj, Panchkalyanak (consecration ceremony) of the idols was completed.
To reach the temple, stairs have been constructed. Upon entering the temple, there is a hall along with the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple, which houses four Vedi (altars). The central Vedi contains the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol) of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan Ji. Along with the idol of Parshvanath Bhagwan Ji, there are also idols of Shri Mallinath Bhagwan and Shri Mahavir Bhagwan Ji enshrined. To the left of the central Vedi is the Vedi of Shantinath Bhagwan Ji, and to the right is the Vedi of Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan Ji. In the fourth Vedi, the idol of the Mallinath Bhagwan Ji, which manifested from the earth's surface, is enshrined. The temple has been subject to theft twice. In 2002, ancient idols were stolen from the temple, but they were returned after some time. However, in 2007, after being stolen again, those idols have not returned to the temple till date.
Dharamshala
Shri Digambar Jain Mahasamiti, Kasan, has arranged accommodation for the pilgrims coming to the area. Rooms are available with both AC and non-AC services. Additionally, there is a facility for dining for the pilgrims coming from outside. Parking arrangements have also been made at the temple premises. Outside the temple, more than 100 vehicles can be parked in the parking area. Although the number of Jain families in the area is only three or four, observing the reverence of other communities in the village towards the temple, the Digambar Jain Mahasamiti has constructed a free pharmacy in the area.
