Introduction
Mr. Manoj Jain, a member of Shri 1008 Digambar Jain Mandir, Sohna, recounts that there was no Jain temple in the area previously. Mr. Manoj Jain's father, Mr. Raj Krishna Jain, was the head of the family, and his grandfather was known as Mr. Nathimal Saraf. Mr. Nathimal's wife lived her life according to Jain Principles. However, other members of the family followed Vaishnav customs and traditions. After her demise, there was no other member in the family who followed Jain principles.
Some time later, a marriage alliance is formed within the Jain family through Mr. Manoj Jain’s brother. This alliance leads to the arrival of a Jain daughter-in-law, Mrs. Manju Jain, into the family. Mrs. Manju Jain also practiced Jainism with great seriousness. She used to say that she wouldn't even take a drop of water until she had visited the Jain temple. Due to the absence of a Jain temple in the area, she had to be taken by vehicle daily to the Badshahpur Mandir for Darshan. Later, Mr. Nathimal Saraf acquired land adjacent to the Sanatan Mandir’s garden and constructed the Jain temple.The temple primarily houses only one Vedi (altar) where the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol) is of Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan. The Moolnayak Pratima was consecrated in Sohna temple, by the Palwal Jain community, through Uttar Pradesh’s Kosikalan Panchkalyanak (consecration ceremony).
Along with the Moolnayak Pratima the idols of Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Shantinath Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan, and Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan are also enshrined in the temple. In 2019, the idol of Shri Adinath Bhagwan and Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan were also consecrated in the Vedi during the Delhi Panchkalyanak. The temple’s Garbh Grah is adorned with Jain artwork. From time to time, Jain Saints visit the Sohna area. Jain Muni Shri 108 Gyanbhushan Ji Maharaj, Muni Shri 108 Anumansagar Ji Maharaj, and Aryika 105 Satyavati Mata Ji have visited the temple so far. Every day, around forty to fifty members of the Jain community visit the temple for darshan. The Dashlakshan Parv and Mahavir Jayanti festivals are celebrated with great enthusiasm in the region.
Dharamshala
There are approximately a hundred Jain families in Sohna. The Jain families take care of the temple's management collectively. To accommodate the arrival of Jain Saints in the area, Tyagi Bhavan has been constructed. Arrangements are made for pilgrims coming from distant areas to stay and rest before visiting the temple. If a pilgrim contacts in advance, arrangements are made by the Jain community for free satvik Bhojan. Parking facilities are also available at the temple.
History
Sohna is a city and municipal council in the Gurugram district of Haryana, India. It is a popular tourist destination and conference venue, situated on the Gurugram-Alwar Highway. Sohna is known for its hot springs and Shiv temple. Sohna is part of the Ahirwal region.

It is said that Nawab Kutub Khan Khanzada defeated the Iranians and captured the city in 1570. Later, Khanzada was expelled by the Sisodia Rajputs in 1620. In the 2001 Census of India, Sohna had a population of 27,571, with males constituting 53 percent and females 47 percent of the population. The literacy rate in Sohna is 63 percent, which is higher than the national average of 59.5 percent. Male literacy is 70 percent, while female literacy is 54 percent.
