Introduction
Shri 1008 Shantinath Digambar Jain Mandir (Sarvodaya Teerth) is located 550 meters away from the Delhi-Chennai National Highway-19 on Old GT Road, Palwal. When Jain Saints travel from Delhi to Mathura, they often visit Palwal via the main route. Previously, there was a hall here where arrangements were made for the Jain Saints to stay. When Upadhyay Shri 108 Guptisagar Ji Maharaj conducted his Chaturmas in the area, he suggested to the local Jain community to construct a temple. By the efforts of the local Jain community and under the guidance of Param Pujya Upadhyay Shri 108 Guptisagar Ji Maharaj, the construction of the Shri 1008 Shantinath Digambar Jain Mandir, also known as Sarvoday Teerth Palwal, was completed. The Panchkalyanak (consecration ceremony) in the temple took place in 2006, in the presence of Shri 108 Guptisagar Ji Maharaj.
The temple covers a vast area of one acre and is meticulously crafted from white stone. The main attraction of the temple is the seven-foot-tall white stone idols of Shri 1008 Shantinath Bhagwan, along with the Shri 1008 Kunthunath Bhagwan and Shri 1008 Arhanath Bhagwan’s six feet tall idols. In the Vedi (altar) other Jain idols, including Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Bhagwan, and Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan, are also enshrined. The temple also hosted the Chaturmas of Muni Shri 108 Gunbhushan Ji Maharaj twice. Upon his wish, Muni Shri 108 Gunbhushan Ji Maharaj final rites were conducted at Palwal Sarvoday Teerth, and on November 30, 2017, his Samadhi was established in the temple. In his memory, the temple committee constructed a Charan Chhatri. The temple often welcomes the arrival of Jain Saints and there is a large hall on the ground floor where up to 500 people can gather to listen to their sermons.

The total population of Palwal is approximately 1.5 million, with around 200 to 250 families belonging to the Digambar Jain community. Despite such a small population, the Jain community makes a significant contribution to the area. The Jain community actively participates in various programs and events organized in the region. The committee emphasizes cleanliness and hygiene for the devotees visiting the temple. Arrangements for bathing facilities have been made for the devotees. Jain Saints visit the temple periodically and to accommodate their stay, a lodging facility called "Tyagi Bhavan" has been constructed. Additionally, a dining hall has been set up to provide Satvik meals for Jain Saints.
History

Lal Gobindaram Bedharak, Deepchand Satyagrahi, Lallu Bhai Patel, Lakshminarayan, Lachman Das Bansal, Yogendra Pal Bharti, and Lala Bhanuamal Mangla were some of the prominent figures from Palwal who contributed and collaborated with Gandhi ji during the independence movement, often enduring imprisonments alongside him. Palwal is renowned for its tourist attractions such as the Baba Udas Temple, Panchvati Temple, Pandav Vana, Raja Nahar Singh Fort, and the Dargah of Sayyed Sharif.
