The management and operations of Shri Digambar Jain Temple are overseen by the "Jain Sabha Janakpuri" committee. The members of the committee plan and execute religious events, maintenance, and social service activities. The committee members are as follows:

Established in the 1970s, when Janakpuri was still a newly developed residential area, the temple emerged in response to the needs of Jain families who previously had to travel long distances for worship and religious rituals. Recognizing this necessity, a few dedicated Jain families came together to create a spiritual space where they could practice their faith and uphold their religious traditions. The first step in this endeavor was the formation of "Jain Sabha Janakpuri," initiated by Shri Rakesh Jain and other members of the Jain community. Acquiring land and constructing the temple was a challenging process. Initially, a temporary Chaityalaya was established at Rakesh Jain’s residence, where an idol, meticulously crafted by artisans from Jaipur, was enshrined. This idol was consecrated under the guidance of Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Ji Maharaj during the Panch Kalyanak Mahotsav in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. Following this, regular worship and rituals commenced at the Chaityalaya. During this period, Acharya Shri 108 Vidyanand Ji Maharaj visited the site for a few days and, deeply moved by the community's unwavering devotion, offered his guidance. With the collective efforts of the community and the blessings of revered saints, the construction of a grand temple was soon initiated at a new location. Initially, a Chaityalaya was built, which gradually transformed into a magnificent temple. With its distinctive architecture, profound religious significance, and the dedicated contributions of the community, this temple has become a source of inspiration for devotees. The temple is constructed using Dholpur stone, enhancing its grandeur and durability. It features a two-story structure, with the principal idol of Bhagwan Parshwanath Ji, intricately carved from black stone, enshrined on the first floor. Seated in a lotus posture, this divine idol mesmerizes devotees with its serene beauty. The temple houses two main Vedis (altars). To ensure a comfortable darshan experience for senior citizens, the committee has thoughtfully established a second Vedi on the ground floor. This altar enshrines a magnificent white stone idol of Bhagwan Mahavir in the Padmasana posture. Additionally, it features the sacred idols of Bhagwan Adinath and Bhagwan Chandraprabhu, crafted from Ashtadhatu (an eight-metal alloy). The temple’s walls are adorned with exquisite religious paintings and intricate carvings, further elevating its spiritual and aesthetic appeal.

Shri Digambar Jain Temple is located in B1 Block, Janakpuri, in front of the Mini Market, near the BSES electricity office and Mission School. The Janakpuri East Metro Station is just a 10-minute walk away, making the temple easily accessible. The temple’s surroundings are known for their greenery and peaceful ambiance, making it an ideal place for worship and meditation. Around 25 to 30 Jain families reside in the vicinity and visit the temple regularly for darshan.
A dedicated committee has been formed to ensure the smooth functioning of the temple. This committee organizes various social welfare activities, including free medical camps for the underprivileged. Additionally, food distribution and charity programs are conducted to support the needy. The temple also plays an active role in education by providing study materials and other essential resources to students. Periodically, Jain monks and saints visit the temple, and well-furnished rooms with all necessary facilities are available for their stay.
History

Delhi is home to famous religious sites of various faiths, including Birla Mandir, Katyayani Shakti Peeth, Lal Jain Mandir, Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, Lotus Temple, Akshardham Temple, and Jama Masjid. The India Gate, a war memorial dedicated to India’s martyrs, stands prominently on Rajpath. Today, Delhi has become the primary commercial center of India.
