Introduction
Situated within Sunrise Apartments, Rohini Sector 13, Delhi, Shri 1008 Mahavir Digambar Jain Temple stands as a revered spiritual landmark, drawing devotees with its profound religious significance. The temple's construction was made possible through the dedicated efforts and generous contributions of Lala Shri Salekh Chand Jain, Shri V.K. Jain, and the entire Jain community. Spread over 150 square yards, the temple is renowned for its architectural magnificence and spiritual aura. At its heart, the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) enshrines a single Vedi (altar), featuring a majestic white stone Padmasana idol of Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan as the Moolnayak (principal deity). Accompanying this divine presence are the idols of Shri Shantinath Bhagwan, Siddha Parmeshthi, and another Mahavir Bhagwan, intricately crafted from Ashtadhatu (an alloy of eight metals). These sacred idols were consecrated during the grand Panch Kalyanak Mahotsav held in Delhi at the time, further elevating the temple’s religious significance. Although the number of Jain families residing near the temple is limited, devotees from Rohini and surrounding sectors visit regularly to engage in daily worship, rituals, and the sacred Shantidhara ceremonies. Whenever Jain saints arrive in the Rohini region, they make it a point to visit this revered temple and offer their respects. Marking a decade of spiritual significance, the temple’s 10th anniversary was commemorated with a grand festival, held under the auspicious guidance of Aryika Ratna 105 Shri Srishti Bhushan Mataji. The celebration witnessed overwhelming enthusiasm and devotion from the Jain community. It is a deep-seated belief among devotees that those who pray with utmost sincerity before the idol of Bhagwan Mahavir receive divine guidance and solutions to their troubles.

The sanctum sanctorum of the temple is beautifully designed with intricate glasswork, enhancing its grandeur and spiritual charm. The walls are adorned with paintings of important Jain pilgrimage sites, adding to the temple’s sacred atmosphere. The Shikhar (temple spire) features a stunning dome decorated with elegant glasswork and images of all 24 Tirthankaras, giving the temple a divine and peaceful aura. More than just a place of worship, this temple is a calm and spiritual retreat, welcoming not only the Jain community but also anyone seeking peace and divine blessings. Visitors experience a sense of serenity and inner harmony as they offer prayers to Bhagwan Mahavir. For the efficient management of Shri 1008 Mahavir Digambar Jain Temple at Rohini Sector 13, Delhi, a dedicated committee has been formed. This committee actively oversees the temple’s administration and enthusiastically contributes to social welfare activities. A free RO water cooler is installed outside the temple for the convenience of devotees and passersby. Additionally, a three-bedroom guest house is available within Sunrise Apartments. If a devotee from another region informs in advance about their visit for darshan, arrangements for their stay are made at this nearby guest house, which is offered at a very nominal charge.
Adjacent to the temple, a spacious community hall has been constructed, where religious ceremonies and spiritual events are organized. This hall serves as a vital venue for all major religious and cultural programs of the Jain community. Besides the Digambar Jain Temple, a Jain Sthanak is also established nearby, providing Shwetambar Jain devotees a place to conduct their religious rituals. Approximately 45 Jain families reside in Sunrise Apartments, out of which 15 to 20 families belong to the Digambar Jain community. Despite their limited number, the Jain community celebrates all religious events and festivals with immense devotion and enthusiasm.
History
