Shri Shitalnath Jain Mandir Rohtak

Introduction
A hundred years ago, there were fifteen to twenty Jain families in the area. However, there was no Jain temple in the area at that time. People had to travel to distant areas to visit temples. At that time, Shri Shikhar Chand Jain, Shri Sumer Chand Jain, and Lala Parasnath Ji were prominent persons in the Jain community. Worried about not having access to religious benefits, they decided to build a temple. A suitable location was chosen for the temple construction.
At present, the temple has five Vedi (altar). In the Mool (main) Vedi of the temple, the jewel-encrusted idol of Shri Shitalnath Bhagwan is enshrined. This idol of Shri Shitalnath Bhagwan was excavated from the place in Ashtal Bohar, five kilometers away from Rohtak. Along with the Mool idol, in the Vedi the idols of Shri Mahavir Bhagwan and Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan are also enshrined. In the second Vedi, the Mool idol is of Shri Chandraprabhu Bhagwan. Along with the pratima, idols of Shri Neminath Bhagwan and Shri Shantinath Bhagwan are also present in the Vedi. In the third Vedi of the temple, the Mool idol of Shri Shantinath Bhagwan is established along with idols of Shri Pushpadanta Bhagwan and Munisuvratnath Bhagwan. In the fourth and fifth Vedi of the temple, idols of Mata Padmavati and Kshetrapal Baba Ji are enshrined.
The walls of the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) are adorned with Jain paintings, and beautiful glass work is done to enhance the walls further. People have a strong sense of devotion towards the temple. Any prayer made by a devotee with a sincere heart before the deity is always fulfilled. Regular worship and rituals in the temple are performed by devotees every day.

Every year, a grand procession is taken out for the temple's Rath Yatra festival.

This made all the devotees anxious and they began to wonder how this year's Rath Yatra would be conducted. All the devotees started chanting the Namokar Mantra and worshiping Shri Ji, praying for the clouds to dissipate. After some time, the storm subsided and the clouds cleared. Following that, just like every year, this year's Rath Yatra was celebrated with great pomp and 108 Kalash were used for the Shri ji’s Abhishek (auspicious bath of the idol).
Dharamshala
There is a community of 300 Digambar Jain families in Rohtak. The management of the temple is done by the Jain community. From time to time, various Jain Saints keep visiting Rohtak. Proper arrangements are available for those who come to visit the temple. If a Pilgrim contacts the temple, arrangements for accommodation and meals are provided by the Jain community. A Jain library has been established in the area. The Jain community-run girls' and boys' schools provide education to students from all communities. Once a day in a week, a Jain class is organized for children of younger age groups so that they can learn Jain principles and incorporate them into their lives.
History
Rohtak is a district in the Haryana state of India. It was founded by King Rohitas, who built the fort of Rohtak. Rohtak district is surrounded by five districts of Haryana from all sides. To its north lies Jind, to the east lies Sonipat, to the west lies Bhiwani, to the south lies Jhajjar, to the northwest lies Hisar, and to the southwest lies Bahadurgarh. Rohtak is a major market for grains and cotton. Its industrial activities include notable work in food processing, cotton ginning, and textile weaving on power looms.
