Introduction
Shri 1008 Shantinath Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra is located in Hasanpur village in the Palwal district of Haryana. Before the construction of the temple, there was no other Jain temple in the area. People had to travel fifteen kilometers to Hodal to visit the temple. Once, Acharya Shri 108 Vasunandi Ji Maharaj visited the area. Seeing the condition of the region, he urged the Jain community to build a temple here. Following Maharaj Ji's instructions, the Jain community quickly decided to construct a Jain temple in the area. The Jain community of Tijara also played a significant role in the construction of the temple. The Tijara Temple Committee provided the land for the temple by purchasing it and handing it over to the Hasanpur Jain community. Even today, the Tijara Jain community continues to support the Hasanpur Jain community. After the completion of the temple's construction, the Panchkalyanak (consecration ceremony) was held in 2019 under the guidance of Acharya Shri 108 Vasunandi Ji Maharaj. Currently, the temple has twenty-six altars (Vedi) constructed. The Mool Vedi (main altar) is located on the lower level of the temple, where the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol) of Shri 1008 Shantinath Bhagwan is enshrined. Alongside the Moolnayak Pratima, there are also idols of Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Padmaprabhu Bhagwan and four Ratanmai Pratima (precious stone idols). On the upper level of the temple, there is a Vedi dedicated to the 24 Tirthankaras. These Vedi were constructed by twenty-four Jain families. The craftsmanship of these Vedi is extraordinary; the idols on these Vedi appear ancient but are actually new. Following the instructions of Maharaj Ji, these idols were brought from Dholpur in Rajasthan and enshrined in the temple. In addition to the Vedi of the 24 Tirthankaras on the upper level, there is also a Vedi dedicated to Shri Ajitnath Bhagwan. On this Vedi, along with the Moolnayak Pratima, there are idols of Shri Chandraprabhu Bhagwan, Shri Sheetalnath Bhagwan and other Tirthankaras.

It is said that during the Janam Kalyanak (birth celebration) of Shri Ajitnath Bhagwan, the idol’s Abhishek (auspicious bath of the idol) was done by the Indra dev themselves. After that Maharaj Ji declared this site as an "Atishay Kshetra". The temple holds deep reverence not only among the Jain community but also among people of other communities. Every day, along with the Jain community, non-Jains also come to the temple to offer their prayers.
Dharamshala
The temple is located in Hasanpur village, which is 30 kilometers from Palwal city in Haryana state. In Hasanpur, there are only four to five Jain families, but despite the small population, the temple is efficiently managed. The temple committee has arranged for all types of facilities for visiting devotees to ensure they do not face any inconvenience. There is accommodation available for pilgrims coming from distant areas. Adjacent to the temple, there is a Dharamshala (guest house) with four rooms, and a dining facility is also provided within the Dharamshala. Jain Sadhu Maharaj visit the area from time to time, and when they do, the temple committee arranges for their stay in the Dharamshala.
History
Palwal is a major district in the Indian state of Haryana. It is located 80 kilometers from the national capital, Delhi. Palwal borders two other Haryana districts, Gurugram and Faridabad. Historically, Palwal played a significant role in India's independence movement. It was here that Mahatma Gandhi was first politically arrested. Freedom fighters from Palwal made important contributions to the struggle for independence alongside Mahatma Gandhi and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Local leaders such as Lala Gobind Ram Bedhak, Deepchand Satyagrahi, Lakshmi Narayan, Lachhman Das Bansal, Yogendra Pal Bharti, and Lala Bhanuamal Mangla supported Gandhi and accompanied him on his prison journeys. Palwal is also known for its famous sites, including Baba Udas Temple, Panchvati Temple, Pandav Van, Raja Nahar Singh Fort, and the Dargah of Syed Sharif, which attract many visitors.
