Introduction
Shri 1008 Shantinath Digambar Jain Mandir is located in Hodal, 123 kilometers away from Delhi, on the Srinagar-Kanyakumari Highway. Previously, there was only one Digambar Jain Mandir in Hodal, which is still located near Bharat Milap Chowk in the main market. Due to the heavy crowd and congestion in the market, people were facing difficulties in having darshan of the deity. Therefore, fifteen to twenty years ago, the local Jain community decided to construct a new Chaityalaya at a suitable location to give religious benefits to the Jain community. A new committee was formed, and land was purchased by the Jain community to construct the new Chaityalaya. The deity was then transferred from the old temple to the new Chaityalaya, allowing devotees who couldn't visit the temple in the market to have darshan at the new location.
Once, Acharya Shri 108 Vasunandi Ji Maharaj arrived in Hodal. He advised the Jain community that due to the increasing number of members, the Chaityalaya should be transformed into a full-fledged temple. Following the advice, the local Jain community renovated the Chaityalaya into a temple in 2015. A massive Shikhar (spire) was constructed above the temple, crafted intricately on white marble. Inside the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple, Jain scriptures are depicted through paintings on glass. Currently, the Moolnayak (main deity) in the temple's Garbh Grah is Shri 1008 Shantinath Bhagwan Ji. Along with the main deity, idol of Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan, and Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan are also enshrined in the Garbh Grah.

The population of Palwal is more than ten lakhs, with the number of families belonging to the Digambar Jain community totaling between two hundred and two hundred fifty families. Despite such a low population, the Jain community makes a significant contribution in the area. Various programs organized by the Jain community in the region witness active participation. There are two Digambar Jain temples in the area. Jain Saints frequently visit the temple. To accommodate the arrival of the Saints, a building named "Tyagi Bhavan" has been constructed. Additionally, a dining hall has been set up in the dharamshala to provide pure and satvik meals.
History
