Rewari Model Town Jain Mandir

In 1981, Mr. Sumerchand Jain and his nephew Mr. Rameshchand Jain, along with their family members, for many years contemplated donating their land located on Bawal Road for the construction of the temple. However, due to insufficient Jain families residing in the Model Town area, this idea kept getting postponed. Mrs. Gulabo Devi, wife of Shri Ram Jain, a resident of Model Town, had a desire for a Jain temple to be established in the Model Town area as well. To fulfill this wish, Mrs. Gulabo Devi, Mrs. Jaymala Jain, wife of Shri Sumerchand Jain, Mrs. Kesari Devi, wife of Shri Manoharlal Jain, and Mr. Devendra Jain Sarraf, decided to construct the temple. The decision was made to construct the temple on a 336 square yard land.

In a Jain society meeting in Rewari, Mr. Rameshchand Jain expressed delight upon the proposal and suggested that the 336 square yard land be expanded to 1 canal, equivalent to 605 square yards, with their consent to donate the remaining land. Thus, arrangements were made for the construction of the new temple on one canal of land. Subsequently, Mr. Devendra Jain Sarraf, Mr. Rameshchand Jain, Mr. Diwan Chand Jain, and other dignitaries decided to build the temple on the aforementioned land. Additionally, to reach this land, Mrs. Sunil Jain, wife of Mr. Devendra Kumar Jain, provided a path approximately 99 feet long and one and a half feet wide.

After that, in 2002, Gayanini Aryika 105 Shri Gyanmati Mataji, arrived in Rewari, and upon seeing the place, she guided the construction of the temple in her presence. Following this auspicious occasion, Mrs. Jayamala Jain, Mr. Diwanchand Jain, and Mr. Rameshchand Jain, along with their entire families, joined hands with the former President of the Jain community, Mr. Dhannamal Jain, other office bearers, and members of the Jain community in Rewari to lay the foundation stone for the temple. Shortly thereafter, the Jain community constructed a temporary structure and with the permission from Mr. Padmachand Jain Bajaj, the President of Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Digambar Jain Mandir, and his executive committee, conducted a grand procession of the stone idol of 1008 Shri Adinath Bhagwan and enshrined it in the temple in accordance with tradition. This was a temporary arrangement. More funds were needed for the temple construction. For this, many donors contributed funds, the foremost among them being Mr. Mahavir Prasad Jain (Agrawal Metal Works Pvt. Ltd.), who donated the highest amount and facilitated the construction of a magnificent temple building. Following this, the temple management committee extensively deliberated with architects for the construction of the majestic Jain temple and decided to build a structurally approved building. The foundation stone of this building was laid by Mr. Mahavir Prasad Jain (Agrawal Metal Works Pvt. Ltd.) and his entire family.

In the year 2004, the auspicious arrival of the revered Acharya 108 Shri Pushpadant Sagar Ji Maharaj's foremost disciples, Muni 108 Shri Saurabhsagar Ji and Muni 108 Shri Prabalsagar Ji Maharaj, occurred in Rewari. In their presence, from February 28th to March 4th, 2004, a Panchkalyanak Mahotsav (consecration ceremony) was celebrated under the guidance of Pratishthacharya Shri Jaykumar Ji 'Nishant'. During this event, a hall and two rooms were established in the basement of the main temple. However, the temple management committee felt the need for further arrangements and space.

On this matter, the then President of the management committee, Mr. Abhaykumar Jain (Agrawal Metal Works Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Devendra Kumar Jain Sarraf, discussed with Mr. Rameshchand Jain. After offering some land to the temple, a portion of the remaining land was still available. At that time, they consulted within their families and arranged for an additional 15 marlas of land. In this way, Mr. Rameshchand Jain, in memory of his late sister Santosh Jain, donated a portion of land for the Tyagi Bhavan for Jain Saints, along with his family.

On this land, during the Chaturmas period, on September 17th, 2006, the foundation stone of the "Pushpadant Mangalik Bhavan" was laid in the presence of the revered Acharya 108 Shri Pushpadant Sagar Ji Maharaj's foremost disciples, Muni 108 Shri Saurabhsagar Ji and Muni 108 Shri Prabalsagar Ji Maharaj. This project was completed with the special support of the then President, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Jain Lohiya, executive members, and the entire Jain community. Now, this building comprises 5 rooms, 1 kitchen, 1 dining hall, and bathing facilities. Whenever saints visit here, this place is used for their auspicious stay.

The ancient idol of 1008 Shri Adinath Bhagwan Vikram Samvat 1548 (1491 AD), was enshrined in the temporary temple by conducting a Rath Yatra from Kuanwala Mandir Ji. Due to the extraordinary significance of this idol, the construction work of the temple progressed rapidly and was completed soon after. Later, with the permission of the management committee of Shri Kuanwala Jain Mandir, the idol was formally established in the Model Town Mandir.
