Rewari Chandraprabhu Bhagwan Chaityalaya

Introduction
According to the senior scholars, this temple was established in Vikram Samvat 1850 (1793 AD). Previously, the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple used to be at ground level, where the ancient idol of Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Ji was enshrined on the Vedi (altar). The basement used to be very dark and suffocating, which was not suitable from an architectural perspective. Due to this, the devotees felt that the temple should be relocated upstairs from the basement. With mutual consent, the devotees raised the temple's Vedi and relocated the Garbh Grah from the basement to the upper floor. Other Vedi were also established in the Garbh Grah. Some years ago, while the devotee brother Shri Paramanand Ji was performing the Abhishek (auspicious bath of the idol) of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan, the idol got damaged due to a fall. As an act of penance, with the permission of the Jain community, another idol of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan was reinstated and the damaged idol was disposed of.
In 2005, with the immediate efforts of the executive chairman of the temple, Shri Veerendra Kumar Jain, supported by other members of the executive committee and the entire Jain community, three Shikhar (spires) were constructed in this temple, giving a beautiful shape to all three Vedi and consecrating them. The temple has three Vedi. In the Mool Vedi (main altar), the ancient idol of Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Bhagwan, Vikram Samvat-1548, is enshrined. In the second Vedi of the temple, the idol of Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan, Vikram Samvat-2060, is enshrined. In the third Vedi of the temple, the idol of Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan, Vikram Samvat-2060, is enshrined. Along with the main idol in all three Vedi, other idols made of stone and metals are also enshrined, which are as follows :

As a result, there are six Jain temples, seven Jain schools, and approximately ten other welfare organizations operating here. The society comprises around 200 Jain families. The management of Jain temples is efficiently handled by the Jain community. Arrangements are made for pilgrims who come to visit the temples from distant areas to stay. Upon contacting, arrangements for meals are also provided. When Jain saints arrive in the area, arrangements are made for them to stay in the Tyagi Bhavan.
History
Rewari is located in the Haryana state of India. It is situated around the Indian National Highway (NH-71B) and serves as the headquarters of Rewari district. The history of the Rewari region is very ancient, and there are several ancient monuments and historical sites around it. Rewari, in itself, is a multi-dimensional place known for its talented individuals, great artists, poets, writers, warriors, religious sites, educational institutions, and natural beauty, making it a place in southern Haryana where one feels tranquility and sanctity upon arrival.
During ancient Mahabharat times, there was a king named Revat, whose daughter's name was Revati. The city 'Rewa Wadi' was founded in her honor. Rewari is famous for its cuisine, particularly its Revdiyan (a sweet). The first cow shelter (gaushala) of India was established here in 1878, which was built by King Rao Yudhishthira Yadav. The Rewari region has also played a significant role in economic development and is a modern market center that provides nearby villages and towns with essential goods and services. Additionally, there are several natural beauty spots near the Rewari region that attract tourists. Overall, the Rewari region is an important and developing area, crucial from cultural, economic, and environmental perspectives.
