Introduction
The sacred place of Shri 1008 Digambar Jain Siddha Kshetra Pawagiri is situated approximately 3.5 kilometers from Talbehat Pavaji Marg, towards the east from Jhansi to Lalitpur route. Upon entering through the main door of the temple, one can see the Manastambh, which invokes a sense of reverence and devotion in the mind, putting an end to all kinds of negative thoughts. In this area, Shri Swarna Bhadra, Shri Gunbhadra, Shri Manibhadra, and Shri Veer Bhadra Ji received Jaineshwari Diksha from Shri 1008 Chandra Prabhu Bhagwan and attained Moksha (salvation) from Pawagiri. There was a Bhaunyara (Secret Chamber) here from which 6 Jain idols were obtained. Among those idols, one idol is dated to the Vikram Samvat 1266, meaning the idol was established 800 years ago from today.
In the temple, the main Vedi (altar) has also been established in the form of Bhaunyara, where an extremely magnificent black stone idol of Shri 1008 Parshvanath, established in Vikram Samvat 315, along with idols of Shri Adinath, Shri Ajitnath, Shri Sambhavnath, Shri Mallinath, and Shri Neminath are enshrined. In the temple, there are Vedi dedicated to Shri Parshvanath, Shri Chandraprabhu, Shri Mahavir, Shri Sheetlanath, Shri Shantinath, Shri Bahubali, and Shri Padamprabhu. Additionally, upon climbing some stairs upwards in the temple, we first encounter the cave of Bhure Baba, who is a ‘Vyantar Dev’ (prominent deity) here, and alongside the cave, there are four Vedi where the Desi stone idols of Shri Swarn Bhadra, Shri Gunbhadra, Shri Manibhadra, and Shri Vir Bhadra Ji are enshrined on stone pedestals. After the Vedi on the hill, there is a newly constructed Chaubisi Pratima Vedi established, which brings extreme joy to the mind just by their sight.

Bhure Baba holds immense significance here. According to Bhure Baba, apart from the original Bhaunyara (Secret Chamber), there are two other Bhaunyara in the temple, one of which may be obtained during excavation. The Bhaunyara contains Ratanmay Pratima (gemstone idols).

About 75 years ago, an excavation took place, revealing the existence of the stepwell, and on the steps of the stepwell were some Jain idols. Among the obtained idols, one idol had the inscription of Vikram Samvat 299 and the word "Pava," which means this idol was consecrated approximately 1780 years ago. Every 15th day of the month, a sabha of Bhure Baba is held, where Jain and non-Jain people from far and wide come together to offer their prayers before the guardian deity.
Dharamshala
Arrangements have been made here for the accommodation of pilgrims coming from afar, with the capacity to accommodate up to 1000 pilgrims at once. Additionally, provisions for Satvik meals are also available for the pilgrims within the temple premises.
History
To the north of Lalitpur lies Jhansi, to the south lies Sagar, to the east lies Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, and Shivpuri of Madhya Pradesh, and to the west lies Guna. The Betwa, Dhasan, and Jamni rivers are the major rivers in this region. The prominent tourist destinations in this district include Devgarh, Neelkantheshwar Trimurti, Ranchhodji, Matatila Dam, and Mahavir Swami Abhyaran, which are particularly famous. The establishment of this district was done by the Bundela Rajputs in the 17th century. From 1891 to 1974, Lalitpur district was a part of Jhansi district. Many Hindu and Jain temples are also located here. Devgarh Fort is also situated in Lalitpur, where there are 31 Jain temples inside the fort. Among these temples, the most beautiful temple is that of Jain Tirthankar Bhagwan Shantinath Ji.
