According to legend, during the Mahabharata era, King Yudhishthira of Indraprastha (present-day Delhi) gave this village to his guru, Dronacharya.

Introduction
Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan Digambar Jain Atishay Kshetra is located in Kasan Village of Gurugram district in Haryana. Currently, the temple has three Vedi (altar), two of which are dedicated to Shri Mahavir Swami Ji, and one Vedi is dedicated to Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Bhagwan Ji. Along with the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol), other idols of Jain Tirthankar, made of stone and Ashtadhatu are also established in the Vedi. In one of the Vedi, Kshetrapal Baba’s idol is also enshrined. The entire temple is constructed using stone, and intricate carvings are done on the stones inside the Garbh Grah. The construction of a Manstambh, outside the temple was completed in 2017, which houses a total of 735 Jain pratima, combining idols of Trikaal Chaubisi. In 2021, Aryika 105 Gyanmati Mata Ji observed Chaturmas in the temple premises. For the accommodation of Jain Saints visiting the area, a Jain Dharamshala has been constructed. Although the number of Jain families in the area has decreased due to the migration towards the city, there are still eight to nine families residing there. Despite the decrease in numbers, regular worship, rituals, and Abhishek (auspicious bath of the idol) are conducted in the temple premises.
Dharamshala
Kasan is located at a distance of twenty kilometers from Gurugram district in Haryana. In the area, there are two Digambar Jain Mandir : Shri 1008 Parshvanath Digambar Jain Mandir situated on the hilltop, and Shri 1008 Mahavir Digambar Jain Mandir located at the foothills. Despite having only seven to eight Jain families in the vicinity, a temple committee has been formed for the proper management of the temple. The temple committee has constructed a twenty-four-room dharamshala for the accommodation of pilgrims visiting the area. Additionally, there is a facility of a dining hall for the convenience of the pilgrims. The area frequently witnesses the arrival of Jain Saints. Arrangements for their stay are made in the Tyagi Bhavan. The temple also has a lecture hall where around five hundred devotees can gather to listen to the discourses of the Munis and incorporate their teachings into their lives for success.
