Introduction

Shri 1008 Bhagwan Parshvanath Digambar Jain Mandir, established by Jain devotees, is approximately 250 years old. It is located in the lane behind the Shri Kheda Mandir in Jagadhri. This temple not only boasts ancient origins but also holds a deeply rooted history. At that time, the temple housed the idol of Shri 1008 Bhagwan Parshvanath Ji made of Ashtadhatu (eight metals). From 250 years ago to till date, the temple has undergone a lot of development. Currently a magnificent Vedi in the form of Samavasharan of Shri 1008 Bhagwan Adinath Ji is enshrined which is the Mool Vedi (main altar) and a grand Shikhar (spire on top) rising 108 feet above ground level has been erected.

The Jain community in Jagadhri is deeply reverent, religiously inclined, and devoted to their duties towards Jain Saints (sadhvis/sadhus). There is always a gathering of Jain Saints here, fostering a spiritual environment. In 1975, the former Upadhyaya and current Acharya Shri Vidyānand Ji observed Chaturmas here. In 1979, Acharya Shri Shanti Sagar Ji of Hastinapur also visited Jagadhri. In 1980, Chaturmas was observed by Kshullak Sanmati Sagar Ji, coinciding with the grand procession of 'Shri.' In 1982, Bal Yogini Mataji Shri Kaushal Ji also observed Chaturmas in Jagadhri.

History

In the eastern region of Haryana state, adjacent to Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh, lies the district of Yamunanagar. Situated on the banks of the Yamuna River, it acquired the name Yamunanagar. About 5 kilometers away from the Yamunanagar railway station lies the town of Jagadhri, known as the "Brass City" and famous for its Bartan (utensil) market. To promote trade and attract people interested in establishing settlements, the Queen of Buria allocated space for trade. In the local language, it was initially known as "Janga Dhari," where "Janga" means place or location and "Dhari" means kept or situated, which later transformed into "Jagadhri." Jagadhri is an industrial area and is inhabited by people who are deeply religious.
