Introduction
The Shri 1008 Mahavir Digambar Jain Mandir is located near the Bharat Milap Chowk in the Main Market of Hodal. This temple is the first among the two Digambar Jain temples situated in Hodal. Prior to the construction of this temple, there were no other Jain temples in the area, and the number of Jain families was increasing. Therefore, the local Jain community formed a committee for the construction of the temple. After obtaining the consent of all the committee members, a suitable location was chosen for the temple, and thereafter, the construction of the temple was completed. The first Panchkalyanak (consecration ceremony) was organized between the years 1964 and 1965. The main temple houses a Vedi where the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol) is of Shri Mahavir Bhagwan ji. Alongside the Moolnayak Pratima, there are also idols made of other stones and Asthdhatu (eight metals) placed within the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum). The idol of shri Mahavir Bhagwan holds immense significance in the region.

Every year, the Jain community celebrates Mahavir Jayanti and Daslakshan Parv with great enthusiasm in the temple. Due to its location on the main road, Jain Saints often visit the temple at regular intervals. Over the years, revered Saints like Shri 108 Vasunandi Ji Maharaj, Acharya Shri 108 Gyanasagar Ji Maharaj, Acharya Shri 108 Gyanbhusan Ji Maharaj, and Acharya Shri 108 Pushpadant Ji Maharaj have visited the temple. Arrangements for their stay are made in the nearby Jain Dharmashala's Sant Bhavan upon their arrival.
Dharamshala
The population of Palwal is more than ten lakhs, with around two hundred to two hundred fifty families belonging to the Digambar Jain community. Despite such a small population, the Jain community contributes significantly to the area. They actively participate in various programs and events organized in the region. There are two Digambar Jain Mandir in the area. Jain Saints frequently visit the temples at different times. To accommodate their stay, a facility called "Tyagi Bhavan" has been constructed. Additionally, a dining hall has been set up in the dharamshala premises to provide pure and Satvik meals.
History

Palwal is renowned for its historical landmarks such as Baba Udas Temple, Panchvati Temple, Pandav Vana, Raja Nahar Singh Fort, and Saiyad Sharif's Dargah, which attract visitors from all over.
