Introduction
Shri 1008 Mallinath Digambar Jain Mandir is located in Sector 43 in Gurugram (Haryana). This temple was constructed by the Jain community in the year 2013 to 2014. Before the construction of Mandir Ji, there was no other Jain temple in the vicinity of Sector 43. Gradually the number of families of the Jain community was increasing in the area. People had to go to distant areas to have darshan. A committee was formed by the Jain community and the decision to construct the temple was taken by all the members of the committee. Thus after the completion of the construction work, the first Panchkalyanak (consecration ceremony) in the temple, happened in the presence of Aryika Shri 105 Gyanmati Mata Ji. Now people of the Sector 43 Jain community do not have to go far everyday for darshan.
There is basically one Vedi (altar) in the temple. The Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol) in the vedi is of Shri 1008 Mallinath Bhagwan Ji. Along with the Moolnayak Pratima, the idol of Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Shantinath Bhagwan, Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan and Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan ji are also enshrined in the Vedi. Every day 200 to 250 Jain families come to the temple and perform Puja (prayer) and Shantidhara. Every year, Das Lakshan Parva (ten cardinal virtues) and Mahavir Jayanti are celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Jain community.
Dharamshala
Presently Gurugram has become an industrial hub with all kinds of facilities, where people of different communities live together. There is a community of about seven hundred to eight hundred Jain families in Gurugram. Many Jain temples are established in the area, and a committee has been formed for each temple. Shri 1008 Mallinath Digambar Jain Mandir is located in Sector 43, Gurugram. Jain Saints keep visiting the temple from time to time. When Jain Saint arrives, arrangements for their stay are made in the rooms built in the temple. Shri 1008 Parshvanath Digambar Jain Mandir is situated in Gurugram Sadar Bazar at a distance of six kilometers from the temple. Jain Dharamshala is built along with the temple. Stay arrangements are made available in Dharamshala for the visitors coming from distant areas. Whenever Jain Saint arrives in the area, arrangements for their stay are also made in Tyagi Bhawan built near Dharamshala. Along with Dharamshala, Bhagwan Parshvanath Charitable Medicare Center is run by Jain Community, in which facilities of Homeopathy, Physiotherapy Centre, Eye Centre, Dentist, Children's Special Doctor, Skin Doctor etc. are available.

According to popular belief, during the Mahabharata period, King Yudhishthir of Indraprastha (present day Delhi) had given this village to his Guru Dronacharya. It was after his name that it came to be called Gurugram, which later changed to Gurgaon. Gurugram: This city is located at a distance of 32 kilometers from the national capital New Delhi.
