Introduction
Shri 1008 Munisuvratnath Digambar Jain Temple is located in Sector-15 (Part-1) in Gurugram district, Haryana. Earlier there was no Jain temple nearby in the area. The Jain community was gradually settling in Sector-15 (Part-1) of Gurugram. At that time the patron of the Jain community was Shri Kanwar Sain Jain. During that time, the revered Acharya Shri 108 Bahubali Maharaj Ji arrived in Gurugram. Seeing the area, he told Shri Kanwar Sain Jain Ji that the number of Jain families are increasing in the area and a Jain temple should be constructed soon in the area. After getting the inspiration and guidance from Maharaj ji, Shri Kanwar Sain ji bought land for the construction of the temple with his share of money and got the Chaityalaya constructed. His wish was that the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol) should be enshrined by him in the Vedi (altar). He shared this desire with the members of the Jain community and with the permission of all the members, he enshrined the Pratima of Shri 1008 Munisuvratnath Bhagwan Ji as the Moolnayak Pratima.
A total of nine idols including the Moolnayak Pratima are present in the Vedi, which are of Shri 1008 Chandraprabhu Bhagwan Ji, Shri 1008 Shitalnath Bhagwan Ji, Shri 1008 Shantinath Bhagwan Ji, Shri 1008 Adinath Bhagwan Ji, Shri 1008 Parshvanath Bhagwan Ji, Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan Ji, and a Chaubisi Pratima along with Shri Munisuvratnath Bhagwan Ji. The other eight idols in the Vedi are enshrined by eight families from the local Jain community. In the year 2013, Chaturmas of Acharya Shri 108 Paysagar Ji Maharaj happened in the temple, and under his guidance a Jivani Yantra (well) was constructed in the temple for the Abhishek (auspicious bath of the idol). In the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple, beautiful paintings have been used inside the Shikhar (spire on top) to depict Jain stories. Every day, Puja-Prakshal (Prayer) and Abhishek are conducted smoothly in the temple.

Gurugram, adjacent to India's capital Delhi, has become an industrial hub equipped with all kinds of facilities. There is a community of about seven hundred to eight hundred Jain families in Gurugram. Many Jain temples are built in the area and a committee has been formed for each temple. Shri 1008 Munisuvratnath Digambar Jain Mandir is located in Sector 15 of Gurugram. Important care has been taken about the cleanliness for the devotees coming to the temple. If any Pilgrim comes from a distant area to visit the temple, then the accommodation arrangements for them are also made available by the temple committee. Jain Saints also keep visiting the temple. When Jain Saints arrive, arrangements for their stay are made at Tyagi Bhawan. There is also a gyaan kaksh built in the temple for self-study, which is also used as a discourse hall when Muni Maharaj Ji comes.
History
