Introduction
Shri 1008 Parshvanath Digambar Jain Mandir in Gohana, is the ancient temple whose construction was undertaken by the Jain community around 600 years ago. Though the renovation work has been carried out by the Jain community from time to time, the temple still exhibits its antiquity through its walls. Within the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple, vibrant paintings depict marvelous Jain images, showcasing various forms of the divine and the heroic deeds of the Tirthankar. These paintings portray the diverse incarnations of the divine beings and the celestial vehicles of the Tirthankar in the cosmic sphere through the golden artistry, appearing exquisitely beautiful. The creation of these paintings was also carried out by the Jain community during the construction of the temple in the past. Currently, in the temple, there are five Vedi (altar) of Shri Jinendra Bhagwan and one of Mata Padmavati Ji. The Mool Vedi (main altar) of the temple is made in the form of Samavsharan. In the Mool Vedi, there is a 600-year-old idol of Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan. In the second Vedi of the temple, along with the Moolnayak Pratima (main deity’s idol) of Shri Mahavir Bhagwan, there are other ancient idols enshrined. In the third Vedi of the temple, there is the Moolnayak Pratima of Shri Chandraprabhu along with other idols. The fourth Vedi of the temple belongs to Shri Neminath Bhagwan, and the fifth Vedi has Chaubisi pratima. In the Garbh Grah of the temple, there is a Vedi of Mata Padmavati Ji, where a large number of devotees come to worship every Friday. The temple also houses many other ancient idols, whose antiquity is difficult to ensure. Jain Saints visit the temple from time to time. The first Chaturmas of Jain Acharya Shri Namisagar Ji Maharaj was held in the temple in the year 1934. After that, Acharya Shri Deshbhushan Ji Maharaj arrival took place in 1956. In 1998, when Aryika 105 Swasti Bhushan Mata Ji halted at the temple, the sounds of bells and drums were heard from the temple at night. It is believed that this was a sign given by the Dev upon her arrival.

Dharamshala
In Gohana, there is currently a Jain community comprising 50 to 60 families. The administration of the temple is managed by the Jain community itself. The Jain community has constructed the Tyagi Bhavan for the Jain Saints who visit the area. If any pilgrim contacts the temple and wishes to stay, arrangements are made for their accommodation by the Jain community. The Dharmashala constructed by the Jain community has two large halls and two rooms. Additionally, a lecture hall has been built within the temple premises.
History
Gohana city is located in Sonipat district of Haryana. It is situated in the western part of Sonipat district, approximately 40 kilometers away from the city of Sonipat. Initially, it was a part of Rohtak district. Gohana is the oldest Tehsil (administrative division) of Haryana. It was declared a Tehsil by the British in 1826. In ancient times, Gohana was known as Gaon Bhavan and was considered a sacred place. As a Tehsil city, it is inhabited by people from various communities. At one time, there used to be a community of more than 500 Jain families here.
