Introduction
The construction of Shri 1008 Mahavir Digambar Jain Mandir, located in Sant Colony, Bahadurgarh, was completed in the year 2008. Daily worship, cleansing rituals, and Jalabhishek (auspicious bath of the idol) in the temple are performed by Shri Neeraj Jain Ji. Prior to the construction of the temple, this land belonged to the grandmother of Neeraj Jain Ji.
“After division, the land was divided equally among her four sons, including a portion that came to Neeraj Jain Ji's father.”
Neeraj Jain Ji's mother desired that they should undertake the construction of the temple. In the year 2008, Neeraj Jain Ji's father fulfilled his wife's wish by constructing the temple in the presence of Aryika Ratna Shri 105 Nangamati Mata Ji. The temple primarily consists of only one Vedi (altar), wherein the Moolnayak (main deity) is Shri 1008 Mahavir Bhagwan Ji. This idol of Shri Mahavir Bhagwan Ji was brought from Jaipur and consecrated in the Vedi. Other idols in the Vedi are made of Ashtadhatu (eight metals). These idols were consecrated by Shri 105 Nangamati Mata Ji and enshrined in the Vedi. Alongside the idols of Shri 1008 Pushpadanta Bhagwan, Shri Bharat-Bahubali Bhagwan, and Shri Parshvanath Bhagwan Ji's Chaubisi Pratima, other Jain idols are also enshrined in the Vedi. In the temple, the images of all Jain Tirthankaras have been etched on glass in the Garbh Grah (sanctum sanctorum). From time to time, Jain saints such as Aryika Shri 105 Nangamati Mata Ji and Acharya Shri 108 Pranamya Sagar Ji Maharaj have visited the temple and with their presence have brought spiritual benefits to the local Jain community. Every year, the Jain community celebrates the foundation day of the temple with great enthusiasm.
Dharamshala
In Bahadurgarh, there is a community of around 500 Jain families. The community actively participates in various activities in the area. A Tyagi Bhavan has been constructed for the arrangements for the stay of Jain Saints. The cleanliness of the devotees who come to the temple daily is given utmost importance. If any Pilgrim comes from a distant area to visit the temple, suitable arrangements are made by the Jain community so that they do not face any inconvenience in having Darshan of the deity.
History
Bahadurgarh is located in the Jhajjar district of the Indian state of Haryana, situated in the eastern part of the state and in the northern part of the country. This city is located near the border of New Delhi, commonly known as the Tikri Border. The city was founded by Mughal Emperor Alamgir II, who ruled as the Sultan of Delhi from 1754 to 1759. In 1754, he granted the city to Baluch rulers Bahadur Khan and Tej Khan, who renamed it from Sharfabad to Bahadurgarh. One of their rulers, Bahadur Khan, built a fort in 1793 and named it Bahadurgarh Fort. The Baluch rulers were defeated by the Maratha forces, and in 1793, Bahadurgarh came under the control of the Sindhias. After the defeat of the Sindhias in 1803 to the British, Lord Lake handed over the administration of the city to the brother of the Nawab of Jhajjar.
